My childhood was spent in basic self-inflicted solitude..but it was self-inflicted for a purpose....so I could concentrate......focus in on that perfect pitch and tight harmony line.......of my idol...........and ..yes my closest private.......and very intimate friend..........Karen Carpenter!

 

 

 

 

 

Pure sweet ... amazing tone.. and a thrilling softness and vunerability........completely unmatched..... I believe .. even unto this day!

But daily she would sing to me.......my own private tutor..........

our studio..or classroom was hidden in the dark shadows of my little closet "apartment" that I had created........how I loved the solitude.......just me a snuggly pillow......and my dear precious Karen..............to teach me.......who a true singer really is at heart...........deep, emotional and many times very lonely.......but unwilling to give up without a desperate struggle to express.......to let others feel and understand what a tortured soul must feel................and she did!!!!!!! with every note and every breathy phrase...............and we all fell in love with her for it...............so even though she is gone now from this earth............

........as we shop each year for our "HOLIDAY TREASURES".............ISN'T SHE THERE??????????  Yes ......of course......we all know she is.............

 

 

Oohhhhhh the weather outsideeeeeeeeee is frightful.........but the fire..............
